Family owned and operated through decades of industry change, evolving technology and shifting market demands we are still here because we’ve always done the fundamentals well: quality components, technical expertise, honest service and competitive prices.

Our History,

Keefer Brothers was founded in 1928 by brothers Trevor and Collin Keefer at Beaumaris, Victoria. The business started as press toolmakers and general engineers, manufacturing switches under the well-known “ZAC” brand name.

In the early 1960s, the company expanded into gas components – manufacturing valves, nipples and unions for the emerging Australian gas industry. By the early 1970s, KEEGAS Gas Components was incorporated, establishing Keefer Brothers as a dedicated gas component manufacturer and supplier. The Braeside facility was established in 2002 to consolidate and advance our manufacturing capabilities. Today, it’s the home of everything we do – from precision CNC machining & Bending through to the design and manufacture of our own branded product ranges.

Over 97 years, our product range has grown from a handful of valves and fittings to a comprehensive catalogue of over 500 gas components, supplied to the domestic, commercial, and light industrial gas market across Australia and internationally.

Keefer® Gas Valves & Taps : AGA approved gas taps, ball valves, flame failure & laboratory cocks, pilot taps and turrets.

KEEFLEX Flexible Gas Hoses : Quality PVC, Stainless Steel Braided and S-Core hose series’ are for the BBQ, Caravan and Evaporative Cooler industries. Our KEEFLEX 43 S-Core is considered the safest flexible gas connector available on the Australian market.

Thermocouples & Gas Controls : Universal thermocouple kits, thermopiles, interrupter thermocouples, thermocouple extensions, flame failure valves, gas thermostat controls, piezo igniters, and pilot assemblies along with split nuts and unified sleeves complete the range.

Burners & Injectors : wok burners (Mongolian and Duckbill), commercial kitchen burners, AM-Series pottery kiln burners, precision machined gas injectors and our KEEMATIC aero burners.

Brass Fittings & Connectors : compression, SAE flare, BSP, NPT and all thread sizes, solder-on fittings, unions, adaptors, MI and FI for gas line installation.

Gas Regulators, Bayonet Sockets & Couplings : Pigtails, Regulator Kits for double and single bottle. Opso Regs, Zero Governors, changeover valves and Gas Filters, a complete range for NG and LPG gas appliance installation and connection.

Manufacturing & Engineering Services,

Beyond our product range, Keefer Brothers provides precision production manufacturing and repetition engineering services to OEM and ODM customers across Australia. Our Braeside facility is equipped with CNC machinery and robotic welding capabilities, enabling us to produce both high & low volume component runs to exacting tolerances.

We work with a wide range of metals and materials – brass, aluminium, copper, stainless steel, steel, and engineering plastics – across tube, pipe, solid, and hollow forms. Our services include CNC machining, CNC bending, CNC cutting, drilling, punching, swaging, end forming, brazing, induction welding, and sub-assembly manufacture.

Our production engineering team works with gas appliance manufacturers, commercial kitchen equipment builders, Caravan, Hot Water, Evaporative Cooling and industrial businesses who need a reliable Australian manufacturing partner with off-shore capabilities.
